The area in question covers about 20 hectares, on which 327 dwellings have been built for different types of social use (tower, line, row), in addition to the urbanisation works: services, parking, commercial activities, public spaces and areas for sports and social services.
The design is oriented towards bioclimatic criteria organised in a compact fabric, such as the use of public green spaces and volumes with limited height. The whole building is intended for social housing with special agreements; in specific, two tower buildings are intended for subsidised rental housing. The building consists of a tower typology of 3 floors above ground, with 5 dwellings per floor and 1 basement floor. The main block – made of exposed brick – is marked by the emerging volumes of the terraces, characterised by aluminium screens. The elevations are articulated by a play of full/empty, but overall the volumes are very simple and linear. A peculiar aspect is the ventilation chimney, which uses the stairwell as a support for summer comfort, thanks to openings in the roof.
