The project involves the construction of a new single rectangular building, with one floor, located within the garden of the “Balducci” primary school. In the design choices, efforts were made to integrate the new building with the surrounding environment, preserving the existing trees as much as possible and paying particular attention to the building’s orientation within the plot. The relationship with the vegetative space was enhanced through a series of openings.
The project includes the creation of three classrooms, two laboratories, and a service block. At the entrances to the classrooms, the central corridor widens to form niches, which will not only house the students’ lockers but also facilitate access to the classrooms for the children.
In terms of the roof, the new structure will feature a pitched roof system, which will create the perception of the building consisting of smaller volumetric elements.
