The intervention is part of a territorial regeneration framework with two project steps. The first stems from the adoption of a new strategy, known as‘Zona 30’, which is intended to protect, in the historic centre and neighbouring areas, a whole catchment area of ‘fragile road users: pedestrians, disabled people in wheelchairs, cyclists and all those who deserve special protection from the dangers of driving on the roads. The central premise the organisation has set itself is to tackle the problem of road safety in urban and extra-urban areas from a global point of view, using a series of organic interventions consistent with the objectives indicated in the National Road Safety Plan.

The second step, starting from the rediscovery of what was once the ancient Roman port of Magliano, promotes water as a unifying thematic element to reactivate a series of urban/rural acupuncture interventions.
