Turning the telescope upside down, of those who -out of love, knowledge and habit – are used to seeing their city. The city is a body. It is not only in terms of the organic nature of its parts, of its being composed of vital organs and secondary but necessary connecting elements, or of its having a skeleton, a structure. The city is a body because it is real, physical, material. It bonds reality with feeling; the future with history and nostalgia. It is dialogue, porosity, hardness and density. It is sick, but it resists and reacts. The man and the world (and the city) are made of the same flesh. Relating to this City-Body – almost unknown to us – we have decided to act through conversation and reaction. This is the objective, the theme: the “Making Soul” of a public city, of the “Acting Consciousness” of a public vision of the city, that is to make a general vision of the city and its possible transformation sentimentally and pragmatically sharable, through the physical articulation of the dialogue between port and city, between public and private, between institutions and individuality, and therefore between built and nature.
